Privacy

Short version: we count visits, we don’t track you, and we don’t sell anything about you.

Reading the site

You don’t need an account to read anything. We count page views and measure how fast pages load with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. They use no cookies and don’t identify you across sites or days.

If you switch between light and dark mode, a theme cookie remembers your choice. Using the sign-in form also sets a short-lived sign-in cookie. Nothing else is stored in your browser.

Writers and signed-in readers

Accounts are created by invitation. We keep your email address to send sign-in links, and a session cookie keeps you signed in. Your name, username, bio, photo and published reviews are public; drafts are visible only to you and the site’s editors.

Photos you upload get a public web address as soon as they’re uploaded, even for a draft. The address is hard to guess but not secret, so don’t upload anything private. Deleting a review removes it and its photos from the site, though cached copies (and link previews other sites already made) can linger for a while.

Who else is involved

The site runs on Vercel, and data and photos are stored with Supabase. Restaurant lookups in the editor go through Google Places from our server, not your browser. We don’t sell or share personal data, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
