Maybe I just don't like Gamjatang

New Korean spot in LIC

Soy Marinated Raw Crab

For 34 dollars, I was expecting a sizable portion of crab meat and some unique flavors, but this really just felt like a few bites of raw crab meat covered in sweet soy sauce. Even for 20 dollars, I wouldn't get this again.

Gamjatang

$22.00
Gamjatang with assorted Banchan

This Gamjatang didn't necessarily taste bad, but left a lot to be desired. The broth lacked in both umami and flavor, and there just wasn't a whole lot going on in the soup. The bones had little meat on them, and there were just a few pieces of cabbage and potato apart from that. Another hard pass from me.

The verdict

After passing by a few times and seeing a decent crowd inside, I had moderately high expectations for this new restaurant. However, I was left rather disappointed from the first bite onwards and even more disappointed with the prices they were charging for the food. I will certainly not be coming back here, nor do I recommend anyone to try this place.
